Rate Confirmation

The broker/3PL document that authorizes price and terms for a load — the source of truth for pre-pay matching.

A rate confirmation (rate con / RC) states the agreed linehaul, fuel treatment, accessorial authorizations, free time, and references for a shipment. In FTL broker workflows, matching the carrier invoice to the rate confirmation is the core pay control. Totals-only matching is insufficient because dollars can shift across line items.

Also known as: rate con, RC
